COST-OF-LIVING IN CRISIS
COST-OF-LIVING IN CRISIS

No one should have to choose between paying National Grid and buying groceries. I support capping utility bills at a percentage of income and exploring other creative ways to ensure that New York families are not being unfairly squeezed by big utility companies.
We all know Saratoga and Schenectady Counties are in the middle of a housing crisis. I support Assemblymember Carrie Woerner’s plan to incentivize renovating older properties to create more reasonably-priced housing: with union labor, vastly improved energy efficiency, and reflecting the historic character of our beloved neighborhoods, it’s a win-win-win. I will collaborate with state and local leaders to build coalitions to deliver real solutions to our housing crisis, including support for first-time home-buyers and protections for both renters and small landlords.
Single-payer universal healthcare in New York would be a crucial piece of the affordability puzzle, so passing the New York Health Act is one of my highest priorities.
No one fights harder for working families than organized labor. I’m proud of the endorsements I’ve earned from 1199 SEIU and IBEW Local 236, and I will continue to stand with labor unions as they advocate not just for affordability but for quality of life.
